Do I need to be referred by my G.P.?
Your General Practitioner (G.P) or another contact in the medical profession may be able to recommend a reputable plastic surgeon. A GP referral is not always necessary. You have a choice as to whether you would like your GP informed after the consultation as this is your right to patient confidentiality. It is always advisable to keep your GP informed if you decide to undergo surgery.
Do I have to have a consultation before any surgery?
Yes. There is also nothing better than a personal meeting to familiarise yourself with your surgeon.
